What Washington wanted; We have Shunned: or did we.
1st above all things. This friday we will not be celebrating in the same light of the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, or even Mr. King's celebrations. Our man Prez Washington was and will always be one of the greatest mans ever to grace this fine earth. Because it has be reduce to presidents day holiday, Washington facts, like our democracy, is slowly being forgotten. So, I will tell you a few so when you are wondering how we get ourself out of this socialistic leaning government you will have something to remember. Hell compare our want to be prez warriors to ole' George.
George has been remembered as a great man because of what he did after the war.
1. However, few realized that George has been referred as a land owner in the history books, in reality, George was a simply a Farmer who own the land he farmed.
2. George fought in the revolutionary not because he sought fame but because he felt he feared one day he was going to lose his land to the greed of the british.
3. Once George was appointed General of the revolutionary army, he gave up everything(for the moment) to gain freedom for himself and fellow to be Americans.
All of the above makes George a Good Man but the following should share some of his greatness.
Although he faced starvation and lost two horses and gain three new button holes in his jacket facing the enemy, George want nothing more but to return to his farms.
But the weight of duty propel George to endure the 6 years of article of federations and the fight to change it.
Here lies his greatest achievements.
He was to be annointed to Kingdom by the men that had followed him throught out the war and the continental Congress days. George In all his greatness replied:
"No occurrence in the course of the War, has given me more painful sensations than your information of there being such ideas existing in the Army as you have expressed, and I must view with abhorrence, and reprehend with severity."
"You could not have found a person to whom your schemes are more disagreeable."
Imagine that: He has been almost murdered on the battlefield no less than 5 times, almost starved, and watched countless young boys, and men loose their lives. And. The most objectionable event was his followers wanting to annoint him King.
George Washington wanted above all else the power to rest in the hands of the people.
Since those days, the democrats has done nothing but look for ways to limit the power of the people.
Think about it: because of the primaries and campaign laws and the money the parties spread arounds the common people of America of today have never expierenced George's dream.
We must have change in our system. If we must have a primary system, they should be all on the same day. We must have limits on the airways. The poor will always be representation because that prevents revolution. The rich will always buy representation. However, The middle class does not, will not be able to this election, find representation even if they put their hand out on the street corner on one knee and beg.
Sorry George you only thought you won.
